iPhone Pricing and How the Price Will Change Over Time

Apple's iPhone is popular but one of the greatest concerns involving it is that of its cost. iPhone pricing is based primarily on the size of the hard drive that the iPhone itself has. However, the future of the iPhone could result in lower costs for the product, but newer versions may be worth more.

The price of the iPhone is based solely on the hard drive space. A four gigabyte version of the iPhone will cost $499 on the market. For an iPhone with an eight gigabyte hard drive it will cost $599 for the phone. These prices were the initial set prices that Apple had created for the iPhone when it first came out. The price could end up going higher based on the popularity of the iPhone or it could go down if sales are not doing as well as expected at times in the year.

The iPhone pricing has been something that is a great topic of debate in the technology world. Some have argued that the pricing will hurt the chances of the product being successful because multiple weeks of pay could be involved in the purchase of the product. However, Apple and Cingular/AT&T, the company that was a major developer in the technology used in the iPhone, have stated that the price of the phone is one that is appropriate for the audience that the iPhone is going to be popular among.

Apple also believes that the price of the iPhone is fine because the company believes that the product will be one that people will be happy with. In fact, the ability to combine an iPod, a Blackberry and a Treo together into one iPhone is one feature that many will be especially excited about and therefore will make for a great option that people will be interested in.

Of course, since Apple owns the product Apple has the right to change the suggested retail price of the product. The future of the iPhone will possibly be one that states that with the popularity of the iPhone there may be a chance that certain retailers will cut the price of the product.

The main part of the future of the iPhone price involves what the price will be a year from now. For instance, another Apple product, the iPod, was $399 when it first came out and a year later a typical iPod of the same type would cost about $199. Of course, the fact that newer models came out since then made a major impact here. Perhaps this will happen with the iPhone.

The last part of the price to consider involves the comparisons made between iPhones and smart phones. Apple is trying to market this as a smart phone in the hopes of getting this to be more popular and therefore possibly able to get it more popular so that the price will not be a factor.

Those are all great factors in the iPhone pricing. While the iPhone may cost a lot of money now the future of the iPhone may be cheaper. After all, there are all sorts of factors that go into this and they can change at any time.
